My name is Steven Komlody and I have been a private Multi-Percussion instructor for 20 years, and Public School Music teacher for 17 years working with Autistic, multi learning disabilities, and emotional disturbance children K-12. I’ve been performing professionally for 20 years as a drum setist for national acts and local acts. I started my teaching career in 1999 as a general music teacher in Cleveland Municipal School District, Canton City Schools, Akron Public Schools as a Concert band and Orchestra band Director, The Steel Academy and currently Summit Academy Akron Secondary as the Steel Drum Director. In 2007-2009 I was endorsed by Peace Drum Company as a drum set artist. But my biggest passion in my career has always been molding and shaping Class A young musicians who both just enjoy playing an instrument to building future professional drummers and achieve their individual goals! As a former member of the Purple Army of Jackson High school, I was a snare drummer who marched all for years, and played for the prestigious Symphony Band. A Kent State University graduate receiving my music degree, I was a member of the KSU Jazz band (Jazz Vibraphonist, drum setist), Concert Band, Gospel Choir (drum setist), Percussion Ensemble and The KSU Steel drum Performance Band. I am a well rounded percussionist to serve all your child’s needs and well versed in every genre of music. I look forward to working with the children of The Jackson Massillon School of Music and creating the drummers of the future and having fun!
